Site Safety Rep
This position will coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs for compliance with federal, state, local and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. This position will provide safety resource support for assigned operating units including training and permitting. Additional duties will include leading or participating in incident investigations, emergency response, conducting site inspections (track all corrective actions to closure), performing job safety analysis, maintain jobsite/specific documentation, and carrying out any additional assignments deemed appropriate by the Health & Safety Manager. They must provide overall Safety and Health Leadership to ensure all employees return ‘Home Safe’ each shift.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in the safety planning of the work activities.
- Participate in field safety walk downs.
- Provide safety leadership of the contractor’s craft, subcontractors and in the evaluation of occurrences.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong presentation skills.
- Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including but not limited to graph presentations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write reports and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of loss control fundamentals.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Team player.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Sciences in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent and 5-8 years in construction safety.
- CHST Certification preferred.
- Shall be familiar with and demonstrate experience with construction safety.
- Shall be familiar with near-miss and accident investigations to identify root causes, corrective actions, and draft incident reports.
- Previous work on US Dept Of Energy Complexes preferred.
