Job Description
The Estimator will be responsible for supporting the estimating leads in preparing labor and material estimates based on plumbing, sheet metal and mechanical drawings, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, completing scope reviews, drafting and submitting bid documents, developing relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients, and assisting in pre-construction efforts.
- Responsible for providing detailed estimates based upon conceptual documents as well as schematic, design development and construction documents. They must interface with other estimating disciplines as well as the other members of the project team. The individual will be responsible for all take-offs, pricing and producing the final estimate and proposal to be incorporated into the final product.
- Perform detailed project takeoffs using industry standard estimating software and prepare estimates for management review within time deadlines.
- Work closely as a team with Project Managers and estimating team to identify cost saving options
- Support the estimating leads in preparing labor and material estimates based on plumbing and mechanical drawings, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, completing scope reviews, drafting and submitting bid documents, developing and relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients, assisting in pre-construction efforts.
- Writing and finalizing proposals for estimates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering or related field. Will accept equivalent level work experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Technical writing skills.
- Proficient with learning and applying technical concepts
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Display diplomacy and tact in collaborating with a wide variety of colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word and Project)
