Site Safety Representative– Umatilla, OR
Location:
Apollo Mechanical has an immediate opening for a self‑motivated Safety Representative to join a high‑functioning construction project team in Umatilla, OR. This role plays a key part in supporting project success by coordinating and administering site safety programs in alignment with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards.
The Safety Professional will serve as a trusted safety resource for assigned project teams, providing on‑site leadership, coaching, and guidance with the shared goal of ensuring every employee goes Home Healthy – Home Safe at the end of each shift.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings a combination of field awareness, organizational strength, and a proactive approach to safety. Experience or proficiency in the following is considered a strong plus:
· Strong computer knowledge and skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong presentation skills
· Excellent organizational skills
· Strong tracking and follow up skills
· Working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to safety and health in a construction environment.
· Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
Preferred Qualifications
Any of the following experiences or credentials are considered beneficial, but not required:
· Professional safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CIH
· Knowledge and application of safety and health management systems in construction
· Knowledge of computer-based learning management systems, development and maintenance.
· Experience interpreting and applying federal safety codes, standards, and regulations
· Experience preparing and delivering safety or industrial hygiene information
· An Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field
· Prior experience in safety, health, environmental, or emergency response roles
· Construction experience with a primary focus on safety, health, or environmental protection
· Completion of OSHA Outreach Trainer coursework, including but not limited to: OSHA 500, and 510
This position requires the development of a close and effective working relationship with the project team, including but not limited to frontline workers, field supervision and department management. The ideal candidate must have a strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and demonstrate knowledge of risk, liability, and safety management.
