Mechanical Engineer (Senior Level)
Summary
We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our industrial process team. As a mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting systems in a variety of industrial facilities with a primary focus on food processing. You will also collaborate with other engineers, designers, and construction crews to ensure optimal performance, quality, and safety of our client’s systems.
To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, and zero to ten years of relevant experience. You should also have a strong knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. You should be proficient in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Revit and be familiar with industry standards and regulations. You should also have excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform on-site surveys of a facility’s equipment and systems
- Perform reality capture services using 3D scanning equipment
- Write up field notes and meeting minutes
- Produce design documentation including drawing packages, P&IDs, and FDDs
- Produce project documentation including scopes, schedules, and budgets
Skills and Qualifications
- Writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Excel skills and Windows software platform knowledge and experience
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Revit experience is strongly preferred
- Strong work ethic
- Good attitude and willing and eager to learn
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- 4 to years experience in mechanical systems design
- Construction and fabrication knowledge is a plus
