Account Manager
We are currently seeking an Energy Services Performance Contracting Account Manager to help support our market-based energy efficiency program implementation work in Western Washington. In this position, you will have a broad impact on energy efficiency markets and greenhouse gas reductions.
Account management responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and preparing sales reports. Account Managers also answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Customer Service and Product Development departments) to improve the entire customer experience. This position may require travel as face-to-face meetings are always preferred.
We are looking for an Account Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The Account Manager’s role is to oversee the on-boarding of customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
- Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
- Prepare reports on account status
- Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience or tenure in related position(s)
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Sustainability, Economics, or related
- Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Excellent business acumen and communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to interact professionally with clients, HVAC and Water Heating contractors, distributors, and manufacturer’s reps.
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Willingness to conduct frequent business travel locally
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the HVAC or Water Heating technology and/or work experience from an HVAC contractor, distributor, or manufacturer preferred
- Familiarity with utility energy efficiency rebate programs
- Experience in customer service

Requirements
- Willingness to learn, or have experience as an Account Manager, or relevant role
- Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence
- Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
- Ability to juggle multiple accounts at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
